ISTA Summer Leadership Conference

This summer a team of your FWEA members was invited to attend the 2009 ISTA Summer Leadership Conference in French Lick Indiana on July 30,31, and August 1.  While there, members attended a variety of small and large workshops on various topics to help serve you our members better.  Also during the large group sessions, ISTA leadership explained in detail the current financial and restructuring situation and introduced NEA’s Trustee, Ed Sullivan and acting ISTA Executive Director, Ann Clarke. Attending from FWEA were: Pat Pruitt- Miami MS, Tia Schwertfager-Northcrest Elem., Justin Arkkelin-Forest Park Elem., John Eastes-Northrop HS, Steve Brace- UD, Renee Albright-South Side HS, Lorraine Bickford-Jefferson MS, Al Jacquay –FWEA President, and Carolyn Yates- Kekionga MS.  In addition, FWEA put on a group presentation on how we recruit, maintain and support our membership.  The presentation was well received by the 450 attendees.
